Aaron Smith did modify the WLM app at one point to create first letter
navigation in one of the tree views, but it didn’t work in other and is a
little sluggish. If I remember right, I found that you had to use the
application key to get to the move to folder command because shift control v
gave an empty list. I think it was the tree view of folders that comes up when
you use the application menu move that Aaron worked on.

Yes there is. But that wasn’t my question.

When I am in the list of folders, I would like to be able to type the name of
the folder, or type just the first letter of the folder and be taken to that
folder.

When I used OE, that is the way it worked. But it does not work that way in
WlM. I have to arrow down to the folder. I have a lot of folders so it takes a
lot of time. Thus I was wondering if anyone wrote an app for this.

I am not a WLM user, but isn't there a way to create rules so that certain
messages are automatically downloaded into the folders where you want them to
go? I used to do that in my old OE and it was very convenient.
