Even as I applaud the thread known as "Quick Window-Eyes Survey", a little voice in the old noggin is saying, "Wasn't that bridge crossed long ago?"
While such surveys may represent a quick way to gauge the market and heighten pent-up demand, in the case of W.E.-9 that heightening is definitely not necessary. Damping it down might be the wiser objective. Certainly those who have been on both sides of the A.T. equasion, e.g. Peter Duran, are right to slow the pace of argument and cool some of our heated rhetoric; yet the lack of announcements throughout A.T.'s own update period known as convention season, along with a call for feature requests during what is generally mainstream tech's updating period, gives one pause. The frustrated desire of users as I read it is not for detailed plans or the pushing of trade-secret envelopes; rather one hopes for an end to the Groundhog-Day-like cycling thru Pre'announcements, promise of frequent incremental updates and a steady stream of new apps, to murger-centric promises of increasing stability, to more silence, to more pre-announcements and now, a request for ideas that generally is seen at the beginning of a development cycle. Just givwe us some indication of where the ship is headed, and let us know if the groundhog will be seeing his shadow any time soon and how we can grack it while magnified, listend to, or brailled! -- "Hope laid upon hope, that this crowd will not subside..."
