Hi,
Are you opening messages in Windows or tabs?
Try opening your messages in tabs and see if most of the chatter goes away.
The only thing I hear when opening a message is the headings/links/etc. You
can control that by going to verbosity/browse mode/new page information if you
want to reduce those elements.

Subject: too much chatter in Thunderbird

Hi,

Is there a way to make Thunderbird speak less when opening a message?
If I press enter on the message, with or without the app running, WE speaks
"Application main window, application main window, the number of
links/headings, etc. in the message, the entire subject line and then
begins reading the message. Since I was in the list of emails when I
pressed enter, I already knew what the subject was and did not need to
know twice that I was in the application main window, as I thought I had
now moved to the message window. What do I need to change to eliminate
some of the extra chattter? Thank you.

Carol
