John,
I'm sure there is a setting somewhere causing this.. Maybe this is
coming from a key label dictionary? If you want, you can zip up your
entire default profile directory which is located at:
%appdata%\gw micro\window-eyes\users\default
You can upload it to http://www.gwmicro.com/upload or if you can give
me a URL to a dropbox address or whatever. But if I have your default
profile I should be able to duplicate the issue and see what is truly
causing it.

Doug,
Following on from my notes from home last night, the actions I have the hotkeys
set up for do actually work, there is just the additional verbiage which was
not present on earlier WE versions.
I do not want to install the beta here at work at this time so cannot try
anything else until I get home.
John.

Subject: Re: alt control hotkeys in browse mode in version 9 beta
I am not able to duplicate this. I setup a desktop shortcut to launch Notepad
when control-alt-e is pressed. I tested before launching Window-Eyes and it
worked. I launched Window-Eyes and it worked. I went into IE and while in
browse mode I tried it and it worked.

Hello,
I have a number of alt control hotkeys assigned to desktop shortcuts
for the purpose of launching the associated programs. In browse mode,
with version 9 beta, all except one assignment work as normal. Alt
control e returns the error message, "not a valid key press". Any
ideas what is going on?
Sincerely, Matthew
