Hi ED:
Did you route the mouse pointer to the cursor?  Sometimes, when you go
to a new application, the mouse pointer will stay in the application
that you were just using.  In your case, the mouse pointer may have
been on the title of the Microsoft Word document.
When you are in outlook, Rout the mouse to the cursor and see if you
still have the problem.
