Keep in mind that removing software that is placed on your computer by the
manufacturer may void your product warranty.

The faster easier way for me was to call Microsoft’s Disability Answer Desk at
1-800-9365900 and a helpful person there got rid of it in a couple minutes.

Of course, they’re not going to make it easy, because they don’t want you to
remove it.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Getting rid of McAfee

Hi list:

Got a new laptop with Windows 8.1.

Dell likes to put the ubitiquous McAfee programs on it.

Now, McAfee seems pretty hard to remove, without sighted assistance.

For the most part, the uninstall procedure wasn’t accessible with Window-Eyes.

I had to install the demo of the Shark to use the Convenient OCR feature to get
around the dialogs enough to remove the McAfee software.

Anyone know of a faster, easier way to accomplish this?

It’s gone from this configuration, but, this has got to be a valid question for
anyone buying a new Dell system.

Thanks!
