It is quite possibly being put in "Protected View" mode. I've noticed this
with all PDF documents that you try to open as an attachment or from a web
page. I've found two different ways to resolve this.

1. You can go to the "Preferences" press control+k in Adobe reader and go
down to the security(enhanced) selection and uncheck the "enable protected view
at startup, "checkbox. Then tab to the next checkbox "enable enhanced
security" and check it, then press the OK button. After doing that, you can
then open the file you are trying to read and press F6 until you get to the
"Protected View" pain. You will then need to press the tab key until you get
to the "enable all" button and press enter. The document can then be read.

2. You can also save the document to your desktop or hard drive and open the
document after you have saved it.

It should be noted, that in step one, you only need to do the setup steps in
the security(enhanced) once. So any time you open a document without saving,
you can just press the F6 key to get to the "protected view" pain.

I truly believe this is an Adobe reader bug as you really shouldn't half to do
this if the "enable protected view" checkbox is not checked, however, I've
gotten no feedback from the good folks at Adobe regarding my enquiries about
this issue.

When I open a pdf for some training I'm doing, I hear "edit disabled" and
nothing but the title of the document is spoken by WE 9 Beta2. I would have
thought perhaps it was a scanned image or something, but when I email it to
myself and open the email on my iphone, I am able to read/hear the document.
Does anyone have a clue to what's going on with this document? I'm using
vista32, Acrobat 9.5.5. Now that I recheck it, it also says, secured. But how
is it possible that I can open and read it on my phone? Are there any pc
solutions out there because that would be easier if I could use WE to read it.

Thanks a lot for your help..
