thats the way for all things with window eyes now. its probly just a kink. Personally i just thought of how to solve my pc problems. I am going to try to reset internet exploder to the defaults. Later Scott ps i will probly just run linux along side windows @ least for now Original message:
i have to use the normal windows copy and paste commands because the f8 keys are not working yet for w e 9 beta 2. if you want to use the normal windows highlight, copy and paste commands on web pages you have to turn browse mode off first. the commands still work but there is no wineyes speech support for these actions. i know the windows commands still work because when i open notepad and use the windows paste command, control v all the text is being pasted into notepad.

Actually, I cannot mark and copy text in either IE or Firefox using WE on either my Windows 7 or 8.1 machine. They are running on two different Macs under VM Fusion Windows. That's not supposed to be an issue, but it is the only commonality.

have you tried this as a experiment? will the windows commands work without w e running? with nvda or narrator?

The reason I tried the F8 commands is that since the new gbetas I have not been a bler to get Windows copy commands to work using Window 7. No text speaks as I try to highlight it, and if I hold down the shift key, move down a few lines, then press CTRL-C, there is nothing added to the clipgboard. I figured the Windows copy commands had been disabled with the new web abilities. So I must be doing something else wrong. Using the latest beta and IE 11 and the latest Firefox. Any suggestions appreciated.

why bother with f8 when windows commands can do the same thing. and is more reliable? you have both options. if you don't care about formatting use windows commands. arrow to the beginning of the address and hold down the shift key and arrow to the end of the address. this will highlight the text. then press control c to copy to clipboard, alt tab to the program you are useing like notepad, word etc. and press control v to paste the text into the
document. sometimes i just highlight the whole web page, paste it into notepad then i can delete what i don't want to keep. like a list of recipes. i will copy the whole page and delete everything but
the recipes.

Hi. No matter what I try, I cannot seem to copy the mailing address from the LOC
web page http://www.loc.gov/nls/contact.html I have tried marking the block from the National Library Service to the DC zip code from the top, the bottom, going by word, line, etc. All I get is the final line. What might I be doing wrong?
