Hi David,
Yes, I have encountered this problem.
Here is my solution.
I bought a yearly subscription for bninite pro for $30 for 5 computer,
and that problem is gone for ever.
It is only $10 per year for one computer.
It will uncheck the boxes and update automatically.
I love it and recommend it highly!
Ninite will automatically do my updates and it will check those
troublesome boxes.Good Luck, Manny please help me reach a million clicks
by forwarding my stand-up comedy performance to your friends, or Tweet
or Facebook it. ** ** ** ** **

Well, my Flash complained, it needed an update. I went to the website,
and remembered from earlier cases, that you need make sure to uncheck
the one and only checkbox on that website, or you will find yourself
with some bloatware from McAFee installed. With WE8.4, this was not
much of a deal. hit the X-key, and you landed on the checkbox.
Yeah, that was in the "old days"; wasn't it? With WE9B3 running, and
thereby the new brose mode, there is no chance. Not in Internet
Explorer, nor in Firefox. You can hit that x-key from now and until
the moon raises. All you hear, is "No Checkboxes".
Strange thing, I reasoned. Would it really be the case? Could it
really happen that they finally grasped some sound reasoning, and
removed the bloatware? Well, how long do you think I was lefft with
that impression? Only till I arrowed my way down the page. It sure
enough, gave the same old silly information, to install the Mcafee
thing. Simply just no checkbox to uncheck.
Finally, I loaded NVDA. OK, I know, the new browse mode is under
development, and I know this is only a Beta. But when a free screen
reader manages to see a checkbox, which our paid-for reader used to
see; I simply report this as a clear-cut bug and missing in the new
browse mode. Unless anyone else have luck in seeing it, bringing me to
the conclusion that I must have messed up things locally.
Have tried this over several days, in both browsers, in three
different User Profiles, and only get the same result. WE does not
recognize the checkbox on that site. Just wondering how many other
checkboxes the new browse mode does ignore. In fact, I had the same
experience in a netshop the other day. Before I can pay my basket, it
requests me accept the sales agreement, by checking a checkbox. No
chance with the new browse mode. It does not recognize there is a
checkbox, only reads the text as plain text. You can hit spacebar on
it, and it tells you the keystroke is "Wrong". You can search for a
checkbox, and it reports there is no checkbox on the page. You can do
what you want, but it does not cooperate.
Staff members, can you reproduce?
Other listers, anyone else see this missing checkbox stuff?
