This happened on both my desktop and laptop computers running Windows
8.1 at separate times today. When I was in Thunderbird, suddenly,
speech, using eloquence, became sluggish and I could not close WE or
restart it. The only way I could restore normal speech was to restart
the computer. Also, on my desktop I tried switching synthesizers to
dectalk access and microsoft sapi 5 and the problem continued until I
restarted the computer.
