By configuring paste options, one would need to change settings every time a
different option for pasting is needed.

I think a better approach would be to have an additional button called Copy
Special. The WE control panel could be used to configure what to copy and
what not to, like the options in paste special. By adding an additional
button, one could do a normal copy, with all the formatting, graphics, etc.
or choose the copy special when only text, for example, is desired. This
way, only if you want a different special option would you need to go change
settings.

Hi Peter,
I actually do understand how f8 works. You move to the start, hit f8, then
arrow around. Text is not being selected until you hit f8 again to end the
mark. Only after the second press of f8 text is selected.

I think Max may have been a little confused as when you arrow to the left it
doesn't say unselected as the text is not actually selected until you finish
the mark with the second press of f8.

Hello Chris,

You don't understand how F8 is meant to work!

F8 and F8 again mark the start and end of the material to be copied; don't
think of F8 as a "selection and unselection method"; it isn't! Rather,
think of F8 as a Start and Stop method. All the stuff on the web page, text
and images, are copied with format preserved.

If you wish only to copy the text into WordPad or Word, then you must open a
document and then pick the desired Special Paste option.

What would be nice is the ability to set a default Paste format, e.g., text,
Unicode text, etc., so you don't need to pick it every time you put copied
stuff into a document.
