Hi, Sounds like you are opening messages in new windows. Try switching to tabs instead. 1. From within Thunderbird, press alt-t for tools. 2. Press O for options. 3. Press down arrow to move to advance. 4. Press tab one time. You'll be in a tab control. 6. Using your left or right arrows Arrow to reading. 7. Tab to the open messages in, yours will say new window. 8. up arrow to a new tab and press enter.
