Hi: I, too, relied on Placemarkers a lot, but I have found a way around the lack of placemarkers.
In my gmail account, I used to put a placemarker at the beginning of the body of a message, starting with the words, "show original" Now, I use the Mouse search command as follows: 1. I press control-shift-f, then type the words "show original" in the edit box, then press the Enter key to find the first occurrence of that string. 2. Any time I need to read a message, I press insert-f to find "show original". and then I can use my arrow keys or control-shift-r to read the body of the message. This is not quite as efficient as the pleacemarker method, because I have to type the above-mentioned search string the first time, but then Window-eyes remembers it until I shut it down, but it works well for me.
