Don,
A lot of times this kind of thing happens because the original program has not 
implemented their MSAA or UIA properly, so that when a screen reader makes a 
call to it to ask what their window or control is displaying, their program 
crashes.

You can verify this by getting another screen reader and trying the same thing; 
if it also crashes, you can write to HP and let them know.

Subject: WE crashes other programs

Running WE 9 on a Win 8.1 64 bit machine which happens to be a HP Envy
laptop with a I7 processor and 8 gig of Ram.
If I try to run HP Support Assistant with WE running the HP support
Assistant will crash.  If WE is not running HP Support Assistant runs as
it should.
Anyone got a idea as to why this happens?
