Scripting Accelerator Keys?

I'm playing with an application whose dialogues do not have accelerator 
hotkeys to all the different fields. If I wanted to script these in, is 
it worth it to register all these as hotkeys? Or should I just hardcode 
each accelerator into each dialogue, with the logic that most 
applications don't let you customize their own native accelerator 
shortcuts? Feedback welcome.
