This will probably take someone with some vision to script this, but the viewer for the NetFlix watch instantly service could use some scripting to make it somewhat useable. Currently, members of www.netflix.com have access to a fairly large library of top rated movies they can watch on their computers absolutely free of charge for all members. Unfortunately, the only thing a screen reader user can do is play the movie. The buttons for pausing, and other common functions are all graphics that are not visible to us. The viewer requires IE to run. You can see more info at www.netflix.com and clicking on the watch instantly link. You have to be using IE and of course you have to be a member. You will be asked to download the player. It would be very cool if a script could be written for this interface so that users could pause, rewind and fast forward. Currently, we can not pause a movie so we have to close out the viewer and start from the beginning again if we want to finish watching the movie. In addition it counts as another view and you are allowed only a predetermined number of views per month. There are quite a few blind netflix users, so this would be a real hit if it were to happen.
Any takers? Warmest regards, Rick Alfaro [EMAIL PROTECTED]
