Thanks for the information so far, but I seem to be missing something as when I 
run my now altered script I recieve the following error: line 6 column 1 Object 
required.  Now follows the altered code.


Dim MyExDict, MyEntry, MyWord, MyHotKey
Set MyHotKey = Keyboard.RegisterHotkey("d", "HandleHotKey")
Function HandleHotKey()
Set MyExDict = ActiveExceptionDictionaries.Item(1)
Set MyEntry = MyExDict.Item(1)
MyWord = MyEntry.Word
Speak MyWord
End Function
