My name is Bernard Maldonado. I am the founder of Solona - www.solona.net -
the human powered Captcha Solution Service.

This is my first message to this mailing list. I apologize for not becoming
a member of this list earlier, and I beg for understanding from the
Administrators for this message that I am sending with the intention of
clearing the air of any confusion.

A message was sent to this list earlier about a new script designed to
incorporate Solona Captcha solving into Window-Eyes. The message was
submitted by Jamal Mazrui. I did not read the message and I am not quoting
from the message. I was provided a summary by a third party.

With all due respect for Jamal, as well as everyone who attempted to use
that resource - That script is not a valid way to use Solona. Jamal did not
communicate with me about his project. I had no prior knowledge of his
activities regarding this script. The project did not get reviewed by me or
any other API developer associated with Solona. The Solona API interface
requires collaboration among the developers. There are several reasons for
this; all are based on the importance of creating a high-quality interface
for users to successfully solve captchas, and to protect the integrity and
reputation of Solona as well as the API interface developer. In light of
this, I have taken measures to disable Jamal's script from working in it's
current form.

I'd rather not go into details about how or why it was disabled. Suffice to
say that there are several concerns and problems that were independently
identified and confirmed. I'd also like to say that I did not make this
decision without previously consulting with people from the developer
community familiar with Python and Window-Eyes scripts.

Please do not interpret this message, or my actions, as a way to inhibit
progress or to damage anyone's reputation. You can ask anyone; Solona is my
passion and I am 110% committed to responsible progress and protecting
Solona's reputation and high-quality service to it's users. I believe that
Solona has made great strides during the last year in making independent
Captcha solving as easy and efficient and as accurate as possible. I
believe that the current API developers would back up this claim. However,
this script does not satisfy the requirements for being considered a valid
API interface tool with Solona.net.

At this time, users can access Solona these ways:

1. Solona website (www.solona.net)
2. Qwitter Client - for windows users (www.qwitter-client.net)
3. Send2Solona - for mac users (www.cattail.nu/mac/solona)

There will be even more ways to access Solona in the near future. I look
forward to letting you know about these once they are released.

Please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any comments or
questions, or concerns.

I'm happy to openly address any questions about this matter within this
list.
