Hi Guys,

I could post a version of the cuckoo Clock program under a different name
to get just what you want. I have been saying I would get around to doing
something but get busy on other stuff.

I could write a stop watch program that allows a list of options for timing
things like is mentioned below.

Send me the specifics of what is needed and I can write an app for it. My
Cuckoo Clock program allows different sounds and the length in which to play
it, but limited to just 3 different types of alarms; Wake-Up, top, Half and
Quarter hour, and an alarm.

Now it looks like there is a need for a start and stop, along with an alarm
when a time has been reached. Let me know what is needed and I can write it. In
fact also put it in the Cuckoo Clock as well as another option, such as either
Cuckoo Clock or Stop Watch...

I will be changing the Clock to allow preset turn on time and choice of
sounds or CD music to play. A stop watch would be easy to insert and what is
needed or wanted is all I need to be asked and I will write it.

        Sincerely
        Bruce

Hi Vic,

This sounds like a perfect topic for an app, which maybe could offer less
intrusive little sound queues at various points instead of speech?

I'm copying the script list to see if your request can interest anyone in
writing such an app (perhaps it could let you define any number of "points"
in a named scenario, and let you define a sound queue or speech for each
point when reached?) Perhaps when you hit the "stop" hotkey, it could then
tell you the length?

If you're interested, you may want to subscribe to the script list to see
any answers.

Hi Chris

Thanks for sharing the link. What I have been looking for and playing
with is a stop watch for Windows that works nicely with WE.

I have tried a couple from the download.com site with questionable
success.

I want a stop watch that is non intrusive so that I can perform the
timer function at Toast Masters International meetings. For those
involved with TMI the timer records the times of speeches and
evaluations. The timer also provides queues to the presenters at
different time points depending on the presentation. For example I think
the table topics presenter gets their first warning at one minute,
another at one minute thirty, the third at the two minute mark, then
they get clapped down at two minutes and fifteen seconds. Some types of
presentations get their first warning at the five minute mark, then
another at six minutes, then the third one at seven minutes, but they
can continue to the end of their presentation, but need to know exactly
how long they took.

Talking watches with stop watch functions are too intrusive, because
they don't have an ear phone connection. Many talking devices have
timers, but no stop watches. Some of the software I found does sort of
work with the mouse pointer, but I don't know if I can trust it enough
yet.

Subject: Talking Alarm and Talking desktop clock

I was looking for a novelty talking clock program to announce the time
on the hour or any time I chose.

I discovered two programs of interest.
One is called Talking Alarm clock, this is a talking alarm manager, you
can schedule tasks and reminders. It can speak through SAPI or
Microsoft Agent. The alarm clock is pretty simple to use.
The other is Talking Desktop clock. This is a clock that can announce
the time using sapi or ms agent if installed.

Both programs can be found at
http://www.cinnamonsoftware.com/

Both programs are free but they accept donations.

They also have a file copy utility I am thinking of checking out.
In the information on the page it says it works with MSAA and has been
tested with Window-eyes from GW-Micro.
