Hello,
I am new to the app development game for GWMicro. I've written a
simple app dealing with manipulating dates. At the moment, I have it
as an app associated with my editor program, Epsilon. This is in line
with Aaron's training session for beginners. Sure enough, when I
invoke my editor, I hear what I have scripted! It is a good feeling
to have it work!
Then, while in Epsilon, I bring up the WE control panel, hit alt-a
(WE version 7.5.3) and select the AppManager. Sure enough, I get the
app associated with Epsilon as I have the fourth radio button
selected -- display by application, or some such wording. I will hear
the button for 'help and options' along with the rest of the bunch.
Mind you, I have not yet done a 'reload.'
When I press the 'help and options' I get the chime sound, my very
own help text (YES!) and the default 'okay' todismiss the msgbox.
This is all expected. Then I reload...
After I reload, the 'help and options' button becomes disabled. This
strikes me as peculiar since one of the things I'd like to check is
the condition of the help text. Is this the correct behavior, or do I
need to do something to enable that help button?
but wait, there's more. Two other strange things:
1. The 'edit'button is enabled. This also strikes me as strange since
I'm in the very program I'd invoke with the edit. I realize this is
unusual, but since the AppManager knows the association of the app
and the editor to invoke with the edit button, I thought I'd be
denied the use of the edit button in this case. If I were in any
other program besides the very one tied to the editor property, the
edit button should work, invoking my editor and proceeding. So, I
just stay awayfrom pressing the edit button to keep the peace.
2. While on the desktop (Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit) if I bring up the WE
control panel, hit alt-a and select the AppManger, my app does not
show up. Instead it is the WindowsExplorer related App. I cannot get
to my App. What I want to do is to be anywhere outside of Epsilon,
get into the AppManager so that I can hit the 'edit' button and get
into my editor and resume work on my script. How do I do that?
Thanks...
