David,

The language you choose during setup has no impact on which GWConnect language is displayed in the main program. The former is based on user preference while the latter is selected based on your Windows locale settings. At the moment, you cannot change this behavior but an option is planned to let you do so if you wish for a future update.

GW Staff,
I really hope, that I am somehow overlooking a setting somewhere. Since the 1.2
version of your software was released a few days ago, this has been the case.
Again, I must be overlooking something; otherwise, this would kind of seem
silly to me, for your app to act like this.

Well, here is the problem:

You state, on your page, that the app does support English, German, Norwegian,
Swedish - and a few more languages. Great thing, for those who wants to run any
of these languages, based on their choice. So, I downloaded the 1.2, and now
today, the 1.3 version. On running the installer, I am asked to choose the
language for the installer. OK, I let it run in English, since that is what I
am most comfortable with, and something like 95 percent of my daily activity on
the computer, is done in English. Sure enough, the installer runs and finishes
in English.

Then, I load GWConnect. - And get surprised. - Due to the combination of local
authorities, and GW's copyright rules; I am forced to run a localized version
of Window-Eyes screen reader. Yet, my Windows XP, my Office, all my security
software, and any other software that ever lets me choose for myself; Well,
they are all being ENGLISH. - BUT, GWConnect insists on running in my local
language. Since the webbpage states the app to SUPPORT a number of languages,
not just being available in those localized versions; Why then can't I seem to
find the setting for choosing which of the supported languages to run for my
preference? What's more, When I go to the GWConnect folder, and look there, I
see there is a seperate .mo file, for each language. Apparently, that means, I
am granted the right to download, and install all the languages; but not the
chance of choosing which one to use. That, would be silly, you ask me. What
good would all the other .mo files do, other than spending hard d
isk space. And, I bet, there is a good handful or two, of other users who like
me, would be in the situation - they run one languaged version of their WE, but
wants to run their GWConnect (or any other self-chosen software) in a different
language. That is part of the world's getting internationalized.

So, GW, since you offer GWConnect in multi-lingual version: Where is the
setting for choosing my interface language hidden? Please educate me, as it is
rather bothersome to have all the messages from the app read out in a localized
language, with my English Eloquence voice. If you want to know what I am
talikng - Please, go to somewhere on the net, and try to let your English voice
read out some German, Spanish or any other foreign text. I am sure, you would
agree, that it is not exactly easy; even if you know the german or Spanish
language quite well. It still is, to be much prefered, to have the same lingual
setting for both the software and the voice. And, since you already let me
install - by default - all the supported languages, I really don't follow the
logic behind any restriction, that would prevent me from also choosing which
one I want used. What copyright would I then break? Again, I really hope I am
the one here, that has overlooked a somehow hidden setting. So, anyon
e, go ahead and show me where it is hidden, Please.
