Hi all,

Just an FYI for anyone who might consider a GPS location-based app: I have
released the GPS shared object library version 2.0.

It includes a new class which holds a lat-lon point, and has a group of
methods which compute for you the distance to another point, the bearing to
another point, the relative bearing to another point (e.g. it's 10 degrees
to your left/right of your current heading), and string descriptive versions
of these results which offer distance expressed as miles or feet depending
upon the distance, and the relative bearing expressed as a clock-face
instruction (e.g. "it's at your 2 o'clock" or "it's north-east of you").

Added menu options for the shared object which allow the user to turn on/off
sound effects to be played when the GPS is first detected, when a fix is
established, when the fix is lost or the GPS connection is lost, etc.

Also included is a small sample app named My_Location (meant really to
demonstrate how easy it is to use the GPS shared object), which will send a
string of your current latitude and longitude into the active window when
you press the hotkey. You might use this as part of your email signature
for instance.

I hope it might help stimulate interest in location-based apps; I have one
I'm working on when time permits.

Enjoy (and please let me know of problems or requests),

Chip
