Yup, and when I asked them about it they completely denied it that anything
changed.

FWIW, this was never a problem in Textpad 4.7. They broke something in version
5 released back in 2007, and it's rather disappointing to see that the menu bar
still presents accessibility problems.

Hi,
Of course Arron is correct when he says check MSAA events, but I can actually
get the menu bar to read by using the alt key, then arrowing down to the first
menu item which is new, in the file menu, and which is spoken, then by using
the left and right arrow keys. Suddenly, the drop down menu which gives no
indication that it is even open, seems to reorder itself, and the menu bar
gains focus. I haven't had time to really look at this but I have seen this
kind of thing before, and I think the highlighted menu bar which contains File,
Edit, Search, View etc are being blocked or hidden from getting focus in the
way that window-eyes needs to access them or covered by some toolbar. I have
seen much worse in other applications.
Warm regards.

Juan,

Fire up WEEvent, and monitor things like window and MSAA events to see what's
firing (if anything) when menus open and close. Start with that.

Hey all,

I’ve been playing around some, and I wanted to make textpad the editor easier
and more efficient to use. When you hit alt, and arrow left and right
window-eyes is silent. I’d like to get the menu names read.

Thanks for any help.
