Hi Aaron:
I downloaded and installed your version of RicksPlace (VB.net 2010 Express) which should be fine.
I then:
Added a Timer in case the Keyboard did not work, just close up after a set time; Couldnt find where the debug output was getting saved so used the ScriptLog file but put it in the RicksPlace root folder; I also commented out the mySpeech.Speak commands in the OnKeyUp and OnKeyDown event handler functions in my script just in case they might step on normal WE Speaking of various keyboard items and controls; Right Mouse clicked the Project root folder in SolutionExplorer and built the project to create the executable in the Debug Directory; I went into WE ScriptManager and clicked Load and navigated to the RicksPlace Bin>Debug directory and clicked on RicksPlace.exe to create a running, enabled global app.
I Rebooted;
I seemingly had no keyboard response until after the Timer fired and closed the script. When I viewed the ScriptLog only the OnKeyUp event handler was being fired according to the log which is the same result I had with my original version. I have not yet used WEEvent but am wondering if you got diferent results in your debug.writeline output indicating both the OnKeyDown and OnKeyUp events were firing. If your test process was diferent let me know so I can match up with them for baseline testing. By the way, I know you are an actual guru at all this so I want to thank you for your help since I am guessing there are allot of other important demands for your time these days. If you need to go back to something hot I can wait and will understand since my script is not something perhaps 99 percent of WE scripters are want to tackle.

Sure.

ftp://ftp.gwmicro.com/special/RicksPlace.zip

Note that I changed your debug output so that it writes to standard debug output rather than a file. But that's just a personal preference.

Hi Aaron:
Can you send me a copy of your code?
I am having problems trying to set up my script as a Global Script.
I would like to match my code to your working code as a baseline to test from.
I can add a form and ReSet the Project Properties accordingly.

I dont recall seeing the check for studio version CheckBox but will look for it in the Project Properties, am guessing in the Compile Options someplace?

I was talking about the check you did yourself in your code.
