Public bug reported:

Gwibber 3.4.2 on Ubuntu 12.04.1.

In old versions of Gwibber there was no context menu to access clipboard
functionality. The current version has that, but removed the ability to
select the name of the message author as part of the selected text.

What I'd really like to see is a "copy message" item on the message menu
or context menu that would grab a nicely formatted, plain text version
of the selected message and put it on the clipboard. Something of the
format:

author name: message...

Any gwibber:/ links should be removed, but hyperlinks should have their
prefix (http://) restored, so downstream media can render them as
hyperlinks.

This functionality is critical for supporting "dark social" sharing:
http://scholarlykitchen.sspnet.org/2012/10/19/dark-social-a-new-concept-in-analytics-that-explains-much-of-what-we-dont-see/

...much of the direct traffic is coming from social media we haven’t
categorized
as “social” but which is social — email shares, bookmark shares, forums, or
local hub sites...

I used to do this quite often with the older Gwibber, but find it too
bothersome now.

** Affects: gwibber
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
