Hi there,

in gwyddion there is this nice technique to 2dfft-filter any image.
So the original image is fft filtered and one chooses the area which
then has to be transformed back. Is it possible to import such a fft-
spectra in this dialogue and then do the inverse transformation into
the real space? Or do I lack the imaginary part?
The experiment we do is the following: we pattern a surface via laser-
interference what leads to regular bumps and dips (some kind of
array). With this you get an diffraction grating, so it is easy to
measure the intensities, width and position of the diffraction
maxima. Looking at this diffraction pattern gives a very good idea
how the image looks like in real space for the trained eye, but it
would be even better to be able to calculate it.
So could you implement an option to load a "picture" into the fft-
filtering dialogue?
Or do you have a better idea to make it work?

Best regards
and thanks in advance
