If you find out something like this then, please, ask to add support for the 32bit format to Gwyddion instead of saving files in a reduced precision. Usually it is a matter of a couple of minutes for me to add it and everyone benefits from that. Hopefully we now know the reason why Nicolas cannot open .mi files, nevertheless, I still need some problematic (32bit) .mi file for testing.
