my Apple is in the office - an my usb disc with 10.5 is in my flat ;)
But three hints/questions:
a) Have you upgraded your XCode (as mentioned on the MacPorts-Page)
b) Have you done port -v self-upgrade
c) Hint a: If using X11 - may try "XQuartz":

d) Otherwise try setting no_x11 (nox11) in your variants
