.ibw is the extenstion of Wavemetrics' Igor Pro files and Gwyddion can import them normally -- at least those I have. So if it does not work for you please be more specific: what Gwyddion version you use, what are the files and maybe upload a sample problematic file somewhere and post a link to it.
