OK, I need an example of the problematic file to fix it, you can either
send it to my address directly (not to the list as it's software will
delete attachments) or upload it somewhere and post a link here.

The format was reverse engineered from some data files and I had no AFM
examples to make out it structure clear, only scanning Raman microscopy
data.
