Adding another grain quantity is not difficult if I know how to calculate it. So please describe what you mean by diameter in this case. It seems to me that the minimum bounding dimension might already be what you request, unless the nanowires are curved. For curved shapes we can consider morphological quantities such as the radius of largest circle that would fit inside the grain although these are more difficult to calculate.
