I think they mean superimposing a current profile over topography using 
masks (Data process > mask > mark with > operations: Add mask). I also 
couldn't change the default red color (current mask over topography from 
Omicron SPM). I tried to change mask color from the entry in the context 
menu of the masked channel window, but color doesn't change.
I am not sure if what I am doing is the right way to change mask color. 
Also, my Gwyddion version is 2.30, I haven't tried any later versions.
