The new Simplicity patterns for Autumn 2005 are online and # 4400 is another Civil War era dress by Martha McCain. The pic is small but appears to have two sleeve variations and has a many button front long pointed bodice.
As an aside, is Butterick patterns just behind everyone else(even Vogue whose Fall pattern catalog came out recently)or is going out of business. The latest book from them is still Summer whereas everyone else is at least early Fall/Autumn patterns. For Star Wars fans, there are two or three patterns that appear to be costumes from the first movie(Episode 4), but may have been in the latest film--I haven't seen that one yet. In November, those on the list who go to the Star Wars films to check out the costumes, may be interested in a pricey book "Costuming a Universe" with Natalie Portman on the cover in one of Queen Amidala's more extravagant costumes--guess Darth Vader or Han Solo doesn't consitute fantasy costume eye candy.
