Emery isn't all that difficutlt to find. Go to any rock shop or lapidary supply site (or store if you are lucky enough to live near one) and get the grit made for tumbling stones. You would probably want about a 400 for a pin cushion or the little strawberry emery cushion. 200 would be ok, but I think 100 would be too coarse and 600 would be too fine.
