I just got a fantastic new book today, Vestiduras Ricas. It is the catalog from an exhibit of the extant garments and fabrics that normally live in the Monasterio de las Huelgas in Spain. I have seen a smaller catalog from the museum at the monastery but when they mounted an exhibit at the Prado in Madrid, they went all out with a coffee table size book and all color pictures. Unfortunately, it is very expensive (~$75.00) but I think it was well worth it. I got it from http://www.artbooks.com/wc.dll? AB~home~&cart=0 , a shop with an incredible selection of European art books, most expensive. It did take a long time to get here (this was my Valentine present).

Is it of much use for secular clothing?

The collection is pretty much entirely secular -- it's primarily burial clothing of various nobles whose tombs are at the monastery. It's an incredible resource and hasn't been studied in anywhere near the depth it deserves to be.
