I think that history nerds, of which I am a proud member ;-), are in the minority. Why else would Hollywood have the balls to make the new Titanic movie that is comming out this summer...the one where they find Jack Dawson's body frozen in a block of ice at the bottom of the North Atlantic, bring him to the surface, thaw him out and he's perfectly healthy! I saw the trailer the other night...look for it, but try not to gag! We had enough problems at the museum with the first movie...here goes round two! You would not believe the things people say.
