I mostly do pre-17th century stuff, so I tend to think of earlier portraitists as costuming inspirations (although I'd love an excuse to dabble in the 18th century! ;o). My modestly-caffeinated brain insists, this fine a.m., that some of my favorite "garb artists" are (in no particular order): Hans Holbein (father or son) Bronzino Sofonisba Anguissola There are others, but I'll need to wake up some more before I can recall them ;o) --Sue in Montana, where it's finally Spring, and the trees are working on making leaves and my tulips are blooming.....
