The idea is you don't make the embroidery marks go away; completely
unnecessary. The idea that these should disappear is entirely a modern
convention, as historically embroidery marks were made with ink. This is not
something about which I trouble myself. I just make sure my embroidery is
good enough to cover the marks. Just as the professionals of history. End of
story. :-)
Speaking of which, I've just finished doing a restoration and
addition to a lovely vintage cotton voile christening gown. I am ever so
pleased. Hope to have pics and story of it up on the website in the next
week or two.
