I tend to doubt that. Hobby Lobby caters to the quilting hobby and the home dec folks -- both a big part of their craft store business. They sell patterns, but they never really supplied dressmaker fabrics, so if people aren't sewing clothing, it's not really hurting them. Quilting is still very big.

Wal-Mart tries to be all things to all people. Unless it's the only retail store in town -- and it is in much of rural America -- it's not the first place anyone thinks to go for dress fabric. And clothing is so cheap there I can almost see why their customers would give up sewing. (But maybe not alterations).
