I don't know that I'd reccommend cutting a knit on the bias, unless the pattern
directions indicate.

Do you care what the final fabric looks like?  I've got some (I believe) high
cotton content super stretchy fabric--in crazy huge black and white stripes.

Does it *need* to be a local fabric source?  Are you willing to buy online?
