I'm reading this weeks Economist 22 Sept 07 International section, and found a picture of a clergyman (woman?) hard to tell s/he has a very soft face) in low ruff. The text says this might be a lutheran bishop. I always thought ruffs, even for the clergy, had gone the way of the dodo. http://www.economist.com/daily/news/displaystory.cfm?story_id=9854782 --cin Cynthia Barnes [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I recently made a ruff for a civic official of a town in England. Mind you - they do wear very archaic clothing, based on Elizabethan/Tudor flat hats, academic gowns and so on.
