I think there should be a sign like that right outside fabric stores, especially the one I work at, costumers are always the highlight of my day, they buy interesting stuff and share fun projects and I understand the jargon. When quilters start explaining their projects to me I'm sometimes left with no recourse but to nod and smile coz they speak a jargon I don't understand or they ask me questions like 'how much fabric would you need for a queen size quilt' and I'm lost, I have no idea what size a Queen bed is (fortunately almost every other member of staff is a quilter so I can ask them) but ask me how much fabric would I need for X time period and I can usually give you a good idea off the top of my head (sometimes you need to elicit a few more details e.g. will the underskirt match or contrast, how full is the skirt etc. but at least I know how to calculate that)
