Your guess that it was Pennsic (at least as far as many of the SCA folk on the list are concerned) is spot-on; this is War Week (and last week was Land Grab) so that may certainly account for a lot of the quietude. :)
My quietude has to do with trying to prep an empty, distressed TH for sale... lol... no costuming for me for a while! Hopefully all will return to normal soon.
