[h-cost] Costumes in Pillars of the Earth

Which I just watched on DVD on three successive evenings and found 
absolutely riveting.  Astounding. It's right up there with Rome and 
Deadwood (I have the DVDs for The Tudors but have not watched them yet). 
So, what do people think of the costumes?
