Anyone can set up an Amazon Marketplace store and just list books and
DVDs at whatever price they choose and when something sells, it sells.
Amazon takes a cut but it is a very low-energy, no risk way of clearing
out the stuff and making some money. I do this with books and DVDs from
my personal library (not costume books unless they are duplicates).
