I have a mystery that I'd like some insight on. I've spoken in person to all the costumers I know and all are baffled.
I made a dress for my daughter from decent quilting cottons from Joanne's. It has a tight fitted bodice with boning. The dress stretched so I took it in. It stretched some more so I put elastic in key areas. It stretched some more. Yesterday just for giggles I tried it on. It fits. I'm substantially larger than my daughter (maybe 2 sizes). What the heck? The dress will fit her immediately after washing & drying but begins stretching back out within an hour or so. Does anyone have any ideas? The fabric was washed & dried before I cut it out. This is very discouraging. I worked hard to make it fit her just right. Now it looks like I'm a lousy sempster.
