I use a sturdy cardboard piece with soft Velcro ( the fuzzy part) - it is glued
down both sides with partitions for each type of machine needle - when I change
needles I just slip the one from the machine into the Velcro at the proper
section. Then I can retrieve which ever one I need next. I keep all the
unopened packs in a drawer near the machines. This could work for hand sewing
needles too. I've also seen this done with strips of craft magnets.
