The bell ties into the tagline of "Spread the News" in that it
represents the bell used by the town crier whose duty it was to spread
the news throughout the town. Most of the people at the time when town
criers were common, were non-literate, so the crier had a duty to make
sure the message came across clearly and simply so that everyone who
heard the news would know what was happening and be able to spread that
news to others.
