So, reading back all the discussion, it seems to me the next step in 
revisions should be a core plugin that makes use of the new functionality, 
so users can, but do not have to, actively use it without downloading a 
plugin from somewhere else. I opened a ticket for that so we can have a 
separate discussion on what should be included in this core plugin, and I'd 
like ringmaster to contribute as I know he somewhen (at least briefly) 
wrote some code for that.
