I checked to be sure, but everything we pull out of the WP database is run through our MultiByte class to make sure it's the right character set, so you shouldn't be having a problem.

Do you have a tool like phpMyAdmin that you could check both databases directly with and see if a couple of the problem posts look right in either one? I suspect that the encoding of the WP tables in the database is wrong...

Hello i am new at Habari and i hope my English is good enough, that
you can understand me and my questions... ;-)

I like Habari from the First time of the trial installation on my
local MAMP (Mac) Server. Habari look awesome, much more different and
well better than wordpress, that i am still using.

From the local MAMP Server, for Win Users like XAMPP, i import the the
whole Database from WP to Habari with the import-Plugin from Habari.
It looks good, but take while because there are 2029 Posts in
there. :-)
During the import, i notice a problem with the german called Umlauts
like Ä,Ö,Ü ! They are not imported correctly, for example it looks so
without the Quotes: "führen" is not the correct spelling, that would
be "führen" !

How can i get the correct import for the German Umlaut/Umlaute ? Is
there some crazy Voodoo stuff that i have to do in the Database, like
some sql-commands that i dont know jet?
